Selling Our House

We have been on for 3 weeks and already had an acceptable offer but the people have a property to sell (soooo frustrating!!! ) - we do have a viewer tomorrow who does not have a property to sell, so fingers crossed

Here is our house...

My sister and family sold their house yesterday, it's been on the market just 6 weeks, luckily the house they wanted was still available, so they put their offer in which was accepted, and the couple living in the house have already made an offer on the cottage they are moving in to, so so far it looks like things are working out.

The young couple buying my sisters house, this is their first home, so no chain for them, plus they had already sorted out their mortgage. The estate agents have promised to get them moved within 8 weeks.........which is just as well as they have a holiday in Polperrro, Cornwall booked for the end of this month!!

Glad it worked out well for your sister, hope her luck rubs off on us!

Ironically it was the very first couple who viewed offered on it, they adore it but they are the ones who need to sell, typical!

However, it won't take long hopefully - at least I work in the estate agents where we are selling it so I can help give it a bit of an extra push!

Vicki - we are moving to Carlisle which is where we lived prior to this house. We've only been back two years, it is our home-town. The reason we moved in the first place was because it is a 45min - 1hr trip depending on traffic and Sid was doing this 5 days a week on top of a very long day. Sid at that time was working as a Store Manager in Whitehaven.

We sold our carlisle house and moved to cut down on journey time and to be nearer parents as we were hoping to perhaps start a family. The company he worked for was bought out and the new people were terrible, they paid off lots of staff, stopped the pension scheme, didn't give pay rises etc. Morale was awful - we had made a bit of money through equity of the sale and it was then we decided to try the Franchise (which most of you know by now didn't work out unfortunately and we lots thousands ) Because of this we have had to put back the idea of having a child, the timing just isn't right he needs to find a job asap.

However, things are looking up and he has got through to the very final assessment day with Focus DIY as a Manager, the date will be set in the next few weeks & if he passes that he will be offered the job.

If it doesn't work out, we will still move there as there are lots more opportunities in Carlisle than Whitehaven. Whitehaven is a sleepy little town with high unemployment whereas Carlisle is an up and coming city with lots more opportunities so it makes sense to go.

Sorry for the long-winded response!:smt015
