Does anyone want to lend me a dog?

To show? I miss it so much. :smt022I never realised how bitten I was!

I'm dying to get back in with Maddy but she is just not ready and Dusty holds a rotten topline and tends to bunnyhop at a faster pace so I have to be really careful when moving her. She was bought as pet only anyway and an all black ped. I did show her just the once at a limit show, just out of curiosity really and she did get a first but there was only 2 in her class and it was a whippet she beat.

*sigh*

Maddy was attacked some time ago Sarah and is afraid of dogs she doesn't know.

It's been a canny while now like, before I joined here I think, not sure but I don't think it was as far back as the 'good old days' :smt002.

Aww what a shame well you remember dolly was attacked and she went onto qualify for crufts every year she was shown, can you perhaps go along to a few small open shows and just sit outside with her?
We were ok with dolly aslong as no dog came within her 'space' and she had a dogmatic on or is maddy being vocal? (dolly wasnt vocal just gave the dolly stare before she lunged) ..

Otherwise do what i did and repeatedly get conned into taking on another dane by the breeder

She has never went for another dog (touch wood, don't wanna tempt fate!) but yes, she just barks like a dog possessed and it would upset the other dogs (and owners!) so it's not even a possibility to take her for socialisation or anything. SKC last year (the spring one) was her last show and that was also her first (and only) show since she was attacked and it was a nightmare. Our trainer had said to get her straight back out as she wasn't being vocal at that time, and I took her advice and did the show but it was just too much for her and had an adverse affect, hence now why she's a barker.

I haven't given up on the thought of getting her back in the ring but it looks slim for now. I just have a yearning now!

Can you get a false dog to practice the cuts on, like hairdressers have a false head?
