Home needed for Doberman

Advise needed.

Foster home needed urgently!!

We have 3 Dobermans, mum and her two sons now 7 months old, plus a Collie, she had ten in the litter the rest went to good homes and experienced owners.

It was a one off litter to continue the line from our bitches relative who we had until the ripe old age of 15+. We brought our bitch from the last litter the breeder was to have, so only way to continue the line was to have our own litter (never again!!). We don't consider ourselves breeders, but having had one litter, we fall into that catageory.

Problem is this, one brown and rust bitch went to a loving and good home. Unfortunately the owner has had a nightmare since she had the dog, not the dog you understand, but a catalogue of misfortune totally unforseen which has left her in debt, no job, and in extreme difficulties both financially and emotionally.

She contacted us in tears and very distraught, she really does not want to give this dog up, but has no choice, we are gutted that she has had to make this decision.

We have offered to look after the dog for a very short time, but with our bitch and her sons and the fact she may come into season in the not to distant future, well you can see the dilemma.

The dog is a Brown and rust bitch, 7 months old, excellent temperment, good at home and socialised. She would make someone a fantastic companion.

Currently lives in South Devon, I shall try and get some pictures if anyone can help it would be great.

We really went to a lot of trouble ensuring that the pups went to good experienced homes, this was the last one we expected to have any trouble, life can be so unpredictable at times with cruel turns of fate.

At the moment a foster home would be great, although it may become permanent if wanted.

Lincolns quite a trek from here, but thanks and we will bear it in mind and will let you know if we have no luck soon.

Ideally we want to re-home her nearer to here so we can keep a check on her. If we really have too then we will keep her over Christmas, but its tricky with the two boys.

We have a had a few people offering a home but declined as the first we felt didn't have the resources, and the other was talking about retraining and on checking it was of the guarding dog variety!

Shall keep you informed.

This is a very old thread, so maybe contacting Dobe rescue might be a better bet?
