I only saw the one last night, but the concept as I understand it is...

They started when the children were 7 (7up) and interviewed them about their lives, hope and dreams. They then re-interviewed the same children every 7 years to see how their lives were going. They've done this until they're now 56 and you see clips of their early life interviews and then show you what's happened since and at the age of 56. I presume they'll do one in another 7 years.
Interesting, but a bit odd.

Not odd - just life as it turned out for a group of 7 year-olds first broadcast in 1964. And totally fascinating, for me, at least.

Inspired by World in Action founder editor Tim Hewat’s passionate interest in both the Jesuit saying: “Give me the child until he is seven and I will show you the man,” and the rigid class system of 1960s Britain, 7 Up set out to discover whether or not the children’s lives were pre-determined by their background.
It followed the lives of the original children once every 7 years.

Most, if not all, of previous episodes, or parts thereof, can be found on YouTube.

I've watched every episode and find it fascinating watching lives develop - some very happily, others sad and most a mixture of both along the way.

Me too although I can't remember many details of previous programmes.
I feel these people have grown up with me and it is interesting to see how things have worked out for them.

I saw the programmes here - they were shown on one of the channels at various intervals, but I am fairly sure that the last one shown was 42 Up. The satellite company was messing around changing various channels and a lot of programmes were either shifted or were just no longer shown.

I am hoping that this latest one will be available on YouTube.

I have watched couple of them and then watched the "whole lot" when reshown. Maybe when 42 up was shown. I find it very interesting, sad, unexpected and full of hope. A bit like life really.
