Getting up late.

No going out in the cold if I did not want too.

No getting wet.

No picking up poo.

No Vet Bills.

No insurance to pay.

No dog sitter needed for holidays.

BUT WHAT A BORING LIFE!!!!!

It is strange. i met my first German Shepherd Dog, in the street, a little while ago. I asksed the owner if i could say hello. she agreed, i gave her a cuddle... But i had to "pull back" a little. It was almost like i felt i was being "unfaithful!" Does that make sense?

This exactly.

It will soon be a year since we got Whisper and I just can't imagine life without a dog in it now. I have wanted a dog since I knew what a dog was lol. And having one has not disappointed. It's wonderful.

Yes it's tiring at times. Yes it's expensive. Yes it's messy and the house is always hairy but I don't care. I love her to bits and am so proud of her when people compliment her when we're out and about. She's worth her weight in gold to me xxx

ETA: Some of the comments in this thread have made me feel all choked up!
