Life without dogs....or life without Cain?!

Without Cain I would
Have less stress
Be more sociable - people could come in the house!
More free - wouldn't have to get home early, could go abroad on holiday
Richer! - no need to pay out for behaviourists, training classes, socialisation classes
I wouldn't have to drive - I hate driving, I basically only drive to get Cain places
More time for other hobbies - most of my other interest had slid off the radar as Cain is so time consuming
My house would be far less hairy!!!

That's just me being honest. Not all of these would apply of I had a dog without behavioural issues, that would make things easier. I don't regret having a dog though, you just make choice in life, you can't have it all. I have gained a furry best friend who makes laugh every day. I've made some brilliant human friends through dogs too. He's taught me loads, keeps me busy and active. I wouldn't be without him. Although I think the life/dog balance would be healthier if he was more sociable and I could include him in every day activities etc, but ce la vie!

Easier, less stressful, CLEANER! But ultimately boring, lonely and pointless. I'd have more money to spare, but what for?

With hindsight, hand on heart, much as I love them Yes I do.
They have completely changed my life and not for the better. However, I would never get rid of them, I love them far too much and they are my responsibility, but as I say with hindsight I wouldn't have them.

Aww that is sad How have they changed your life for the worse, if you don't mind me asking? It shows how much they do mean to you though, that, as you say, you wouldn't ever give them up.

What a dreadful state to be in, no matter how bad my life is for me my dogs have kept me sane & alive. I definitely would not be here today

How sad (and I mean that genuinely) that you feel like that. I swopped a big house, a rich husband and an easy life for my dogs. I now live in a small cottage, have to go to work to survive but I still have my dogs. I wouldn't have it any other way. It was a hard decision but I believe it was the right one for me as I couldn't live without dogs, they gladden my heart and keep me sane!!

If I didn't have them I would be able to go home much more than I do to see the family and be with my husband. Things haven't quite worked out as we had hoped over here, there is no work for either of us, so it means hubby has to go back to the UK quite often and I am left here on my own with the dogs. Jake is a pain in the **** with other dogs and doesn't do well in kennels and I worry about leaving him with other people as I don't think they would look after him properly so I am stuck here. Because of this we have had lots of rows and I know hubby feels a bit 'second best' at times because of the dogs. I feel I am stuck in the middle. My youngest daughter resents them as I don't see as much of my grandsons as she would like! I could go on and on....
but I won't
