Colds

I have a stinking cold, and it's only September!
It started with my eye, which swelled up, and is still swollen up
Then my throat got sore, and my nose started running
My nose is now bright red, and really sore!

Trust me to get a cold when it's still practically summer!

What doesn't help, is that I have to go to work in 20 mins!!
I can't afford not to go!!
I have just put some cream on my nose as it is that sore, and I nearly cried it was that painful!!! lol

You could always try my cure-all - chilli vodka! But handle with care!
Take one bottle of vodka (supermarket own-brand will do), and one thin chilli (red or green).
Slash the chilli skin, but don't cut right into it. Tie a thread to the stalk and lower it into the vodka. Screw the top back on so that the end of the thread is trapped in it (so that you can pull the chilli out before the vodka turns into rocket fuel).
Let the whole lot stand at room temperature for 24 hours, then pull out the chilli and put the bottle in the freezer (you could leave the chilli in, but the vodka will get really, really hot!).
When the bottle has been in the freezer for about 36 hours, have a cautious sip. It won't half clear your nose!

Whether this cures colds is a moot point, but it makes you feel better!

I bet customers will comment on my red shiny nose! I said to my OH that I look like Rudolph!
I have been having early nights for the past 4 or 5 days in hope to sleep the cold off, but that doesn't work! lol

I use plain vaseline rather than cream, doesn`t sting so much H. But the first sign I start high dose VitC, try slow release ones, 1000mg 3-4 times daily along with echinacea tincture, 1tsps 2-3 times a day, then lots of fresh lemon juice in hot water with crushed fresh ginger & honey as often as wanted but add brandy for the one before bedtime or whenever you feel like

I've got a really bad one too Hevvur It started yesterday and I did nothing but sneeze all day and now its gone in my head and I feel really tired and awful. I also look like Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer (although not as cute )
