The KC are taking over rally---I didn't know which one. Shame on the APDT but not really surprised, they need the KC. Hopefully it won't kill the other one off.

Luckily it is now possible to run any dog activities without the KC.

As I said I don't get paid for this----I do it out of the goodness of my heart

Don't really know much about the effect of KC involvement or not, but Rolo trained to level 2 Rally Obedience and we had great fun. Was great fun to do, safer for me the handler as i wasn't having to run around and great for building a bond with my dog before he would have been old enough to do agility.

It combined a few skills and we really enjoyed it, unfortunately we had to give up when my daughter was accepted into a girls football academy.

Never mind---if your daughter does well she could keep you in your old age!

Rally obedience sounds VERY interesting to me....might have to research local clubs **totters off** Hopefully its growing popularity will make it more accessible? I know talking dogs do a "rally" but I hadnt a clue what it was!

I think it sounds interesting too, i'd like to go along to a competition and see what goes off.

John Rogerson has taken this concept and applied it to working trails at Darcregan dog training in Scotland at a 4 days training event. On day 4 it was the competition. I did the first one last year and did it again this year and had a really great time.
