Eating fast...

Our mixed breed..i think she will hold the title for fastest eating puppy in North America, please help.
Here's her feeding schedule:
*13 weeks
*12 pounds
*Less than 1/2 cup per feeding, 3 times a day.

Never vomits, regular stool.
Should we be concerned.

Depends what breed she is but most puppies should be fed twice the normal amount as an adult dog until they are at least 9/12 months. Then cut down to what an adult dog would have. Sounds to me as if she is hungry. If you think she is having enough then put a large stone in the middle of her dish and that will slow her down. Just check that she hasn't any worms left after she has been wormed at the right times.

They have developed new dog bowls to help combat these issues they are called gobble bowls I think. Also having the food at a higher level helps with this too. You can buy bowls that are off the floor and these help with their digestion and swallowing.
Hope this helps

We have these for my lab x and irish wolfhound.

Mine are giant but similar to this in principle.......

You will get mixed opinions on raised feeding regarding bloat / gdv

The bowls certainly slow them down as they have to pick rather than take huge mouthfuls. Putting something in the bowl like a rock or ball will work unless you have a dog which simply removes the object.

Sorry but I still think she is still probably hungry. If you don't weigh the food it can settle sometimes or not by cupfuls and then she may not be getting enough. Depends how big the cups are I suppose.
