I'm in two minds about this. My primary school was the worst food I've ever had - tapioca and stewed prunes says it all really - but my secondary school had fantastic food. We had a proper chef, and a choice daily between the salad bar or something hot and three courses! All for 1.25 per day - bargain of the century!

I'd forgotten all about pink custard - we used to get that too! All that food colouring can't be good for kids though. The teachers must have hated the cooks if all the children were hyper after lunch!

Hey dont blame me Azz its not my fault you have a sweet tooth!
Our school dinners were actually nice you could either go down the junk food route (which about 99.9% of kids did) but we also has the choice of a salad bar too, but there flapjacks were the best!

No I can honestly say that I enjoyed all my school dinners especially primary and junior and then when we got up to the senior school we had a choice of about three or four different things which was nice.

The dinners aren't up to much these days, I'm ashamed to say my son takes Jam sandwiches EVERYDAY He just won't have anything else. He used to have ham but then went off it and doesn't like cheese or anything else but jam
