Both!

I definitely do not want a sugar daddy, nor do I want a car - especially as I gave up my driving licence some years back when I realised that I was no longer physically capable of driving. Not that I had a car but used to hire one if and when necessary.

I've got a 4x4. Trouble is I have also got a Memsahib who would put a serious stop to my breathing if I was to take up "Sugardaddying" as a hobby.

Gordon, my sweet, doesn't The Mem chauffeur you about, you may have the requisite 4x4,but as you correctly state, your personal safety could well be threatened if you had her drive you to your current arm candy

There is no "could" about it. For the Mem keeps a very close eye on me for some reason! There would be no running me to an assignation - more likely running me over!

And then reversing back over to make sure she'd made a proper job of it, yes that would somewhat lessen your enthusiasm

I have never driven a 4x4 - but then I was always very old-fashioned regarding driving in that if a car did not have a gear stick I would not drive it. Did try a couple of times but those darned automatics do not change gear when they should.

When I went back to the UK for my first and last visit there in 1991, my son rented a car for me, and I drove all over England and Wales in this tiny little black Seat - cannot remember the model name but it was, I think, the equivalent of the then Fiat Panda?

It was the second nicest car I had ever driven, my all time favourite having been a Renault 4 with the gear stick sticking out from the dashboard!

Malka - The 4x4 in our case is a workhorse, unlike the ones driven by Yummy Mummies taking their little darlings to school and then sitting in the drive all day until needed for the return journey. Although very comfortable and smart to look at - it is invariable filled with things like very large dogs, bales of straw and shavings and up to 10 half cwt sacks of corn, with which it deals very easily even over quite difficult terrain. Used to always have Land Rovers but the new ones are not a patch on their predecessors. They look prettier but don't perform half as well. Love the idea of a gear stick poking out of the dashboard. Different at least!
