So that would be yet another case of owners not looking after their own pets sufficiently and allowig their animals to escape and invade another's property!

How stupid of the owners and how uncaring.

I agree it's stupid but I still don't want to be responsible for it's death, so didn't let the dog out. Called him when I seen it. ..and the cats..also spoke to owner.

Indeed. I have two rabbits who live outside - they live in an aviary plus shed. Knowing my pets and caring deeply for them - there's no way I'd let my rabbits roam my garden unsupervised as it would put them at massive risk from various predators or at risk from putting themselves at risk by escaping via burrowing. Which is why my rabbits lived in a paved enclosure. Because it's safe!

I have also picked up a dead rabbit from my street recently (it's been a rough few weeks on here! ) - because someone didn't take the precautions they should have done. The rabbit escaped and died. The owners' fault entirely.

Tbh I wouldn't have an outdoor rabbit. Many years ago one was stolen,i also know of another who's head was cut off. Sheds, hutches, outhouses etc are just too easily broken into for my liking. Over cautious maybe. But id rather be that than wait for it to happen.
