Sand Fly/ Heart worm

We are going to Greece on our Hols for a month. i have heard that they have problems with the above. My vet here in France does not speak good english and my french is really bad, he suggested using a scalibor collar but will this be enough, he was born on the 19th November 2009 so he will be 6 months old when we go. My OH says I was born to worry, miight even cancel the holiday if we cant be sure he is going to be safe. I do hope someone can help please. Thank you for reading

It depends where in Greece you`re going. Leishmaniasis is spread by sandflies, who only live in certain habitats. And yes, the collar is the recommended preventative.
