Oh, it is? Apologies for not knowing. It's a sci fi drama in the U.S. It only lasted for one season in 2003.

I have seen it, enjoyed them,
my daughter liked Kaylee and Jane.
We watched the film Serenity after the Firefly series, this ended the story well, was a shame they ended it after just one series.
We are at the moment addicted to Supernatural...especially with Jensen Ackles *swoon*

Well I'm based in the UK and me, my family and friends all love the series and the film. Own them both and regret their passing.

firefly was on tv in the UK as well, though I must admit I haven't seen much of it. But what I do recall was pretty good, then again most projects Whedon is involved in turns out great.

I watched it a while back on sky,I can see why it didn't last, did you know it was a poor rip off of a rather good uk series called Blakes 7? it ended so soon cos it was cancelled due to low ratings, they tried to copy Blakes 7 but never managed to pull it off, mind you hard to copy such a great uk series.

Blake's 7!? Are you having a larf?? I remember the series with affection but it was very much of its time. Orac the plastic box supercomputer and Servalan the Dominatrix. (She always wore tight black clothes and had a shaved head. The sure signs of a devil woman.)

I think Farscape had more in common with it, the same sense of claustrophobia - and cheap sets. Loved them both but Firefly is a different entity altogether.

BTW I don't want to get into nerd wars. I don't obsess about this stuff and my knowledge is far from encyclopaedic but don't diss Firefly!
