I have Callie and Dylan, 3 weeks difference in age, but I did breed them so not sure if it's any different as they've always been here together, but I've not found them any more hard work than having one, infact they seem to train each other, Dylan was very good with housetraining and each time he went out for a wee, Callie would follow him and do the same, they are very close but still love their one to one cuddles with me. Only time will tell though, as when Callie comes in season they will have to be separated. Have to say though, when they play together boy are they noisy!!.....lol. But I wouldn't change them for the world and if these two are anything to go by, then I would do it again.

Yes, I'm in pretty much the same situation, only my two are from the same litter. One of mine will have to be packed off to Nannie's house when Phoebe has her season

Haven't found that Phoebe has been as quick as Frankie with the housetraining but pretty much everything else, is at the same level. Wish she would follow Frankie out the garden but she legs it She hates it outside!!!!! Little Princess I think

You are both very lucky

I have had several people come to my classes who have said never again.

I also have litter mates here at the moment (6 month old Choc Labs) and from my experience with them it would definately be a no no.

My pups are only three months, so I'm lucky up to now. It's all new to me having two from the same litter. It's very interesting for me at the moment. They haven't hit adolescene yet, so I'll have to see how it goes then. I'm not really expecting to sail through - two hitting it at exactly the same time! Having boy and girl should be better than two of the same sex though (she says hopefully)

I'm glad the OP has given this so much thought and I think the right decision has been made. Obviously, as several people have said, breed plays a big part in the decision, but as a matter of interest, my breed club's code of ethics states that members must not sell 2 puppies from the same litter to one home.

Really, that is very interesting. I would be really happy to have two of my pups go to the same home (obviously would have reservations about boy/girl going together though - just in case).

As I said, it obviously depends on the breed. Cesky Terriers are very bright, can be very noisy and very demanding, not always the easiest to house-train and can be wary of strangers so they need consistent training and good socialisation - not always easy if you are struggling with two at the same time.

ETA But the effort is well worth while!

My 2 boys came from the same litter, we loved the experience ...the only thing we found hard was getting up with 2 puppies during the night for peepee, they were big boys and carrying them down stairs meant the 2 of us had to be up doing the toileting together during the night ( they slept in my room ) which looking back was not the right thing to do, it took 9 months for them to be completely dry during the night, where as if they had slept in the kitchen I believe the toilet training wouldv'e come quicker...
training wise I found them both as eager didn't have probs till around 24 weeks, when 1 would sit the other got up ect, so splitting training then was needed...bonding with us I noticed did take a bit longer, probably about a year before I saw a real change in them with us...if I was having 2 the same age together, I'd split them up too some times because they do get stressed if they are left on they're own, overall I enjoyed the experience of the 2 together, and would do it again all be it some things differently, it hasn't put me off having 2 same age puppies together xx

Although I've kept two very close in age, I certainly wouldn't let two pups from the same litter go to the same family as it's the cocker clubs ruling.

Callie is 9 months, Dylan just over 8 months, so I've either been very lucky with everything going so well or the worst is yet to come.....
