Well done Brenda but the 'Free Dictionary' is a young upstart not like the good old OED I suppose this is where the digital age has the advantage 'cos my 'OED' is only the 'concise' version (and very old, like me ) whereas the 'Free' is only limited by the size of it's electronic memory, it's cheating

Nevertheless I shall try latter today to incorporate both words in my posts, sadly I have to go and dig the garden, take the hounds for a walk, go to the Post Office for some cash (assuming we have any) and a whole load of other things which are too boring to recount here

Good day all -
Please pardon me my abstentious ways:
Tis just that I find nowadays,
The money just don't go the way.
It day way back in the olden day.
Abstemious then I'll have to be,
Just like in Harvey's OED.
Please bare this poem, try to grin,
At least I got the damn words in!

See you all later - have to take the Mem to afternoon tea with friends - can't be avoided (blast!) Would sooner be up on the tops with the dingoes.
Bye fer now. G.

Afternoon everyone hope your day is going well.
Been and done the shopping quiet out there today even Tesco was quiet.
Bet its saving itself for next week and half term. Still looking for the bread maker no luck today may have to order it on line.
Dillon made 4 new friends today of the human variety when on our walk up the village. 4 men working in the cemetery they were near the van and on the path we were there for ages while he was getting his butt scratched his favourite pastime and lots of fuss and lots of conversation about his size and the size of his paws. When we left they said bye lovely to meet you it still amazes me how most workmen round here are so polite.

Very good Gordon. Enjoy afternoon tea.
Hope the scan went well Nippy Jen.

Been at work today, fairly quiet today. Kids break up on Friday round here.
Right need a cuppa ( common theme for me)

I'm sorry going to have a little rant:
I have took Rosie out for a wander off lead, I had just, as in a second before, put Rosie back on a lead, when so e idiot let off a firework, thank my lucky stars she was on her lead otherwise she would have been straight in the road, which was quite busy too. So I turned back to ring her home, talking calmly too her her when bang off went another!!! She's so upset by it, and when we got back and ran straight in and gone to bed! Hasn't had a drink which she normally does!! I'm so cross with them, it's a dam good job I didn't see the idiots!!!
Sorry needed to vent

Rant away Mandy. My Max was never worried by fireworks nor is Dillon but poor Ollie was terrified. I really wish they would ban for them from public sale and they were only allowed for public display at organised events.
One night a year.
