I no longer give my dogs rawhide and have swapped to Stagbars. Twice one of my dogs would have choked if I hadn't been there to pull a large 'shard' out of his mouth. Also found out that the 'said' dog is intolerant of beef!

Petitsfilous - rawhide chews should never be given to a dog of less than 4 months old, but I don't recommend them anyway.

I hope that this isn't too off topic, but I wouldn't feed pigs ears either.........although I know that dogs adore them. Our last dog used to have one from time to time, but one day she swallowed a large chunk and when it swelled up inside her she nearly died. Never ever again.

Jimmi has fish sticks, and cubes, in place of treats - they are crunchy but don't take long to eat at all and there is no danger of them swelling up.
