Raw hide with Lead in at B&M

Just seen this on "othersite" I don't use rawhide anymore but some of you may, If the link does not load it is basically about a lady who brought he dog some rawhide from B&M and it had little lead balls in it, the enviro health said it would have caused liver damage or death if the dog had of eaten it

Thanks for the warning Zoe though I am not a fan of rawhide anyway.

I read years ago that some of it coming from certain countries is processed with the use of harmful chemicals.

Yes Mini I read that on here, had come on upset that Samson had swallowed a chunk, and was warned about the chemicals so we no longer buy it, but if a warning here saves just 1 life then it's gotta be worth a shot x x

Hi Lou a much better option is sea jerky which is dried fish.
A number of companies make it including Fish4dogs.
Also stag bars

Does the sea jerky last long? My pup is only 12 weeks old so I don't want him chewing anything too hard... He is teething so is chewing everything. We have a wooden pole to open our velux windows and it has now become his favourite chew toy

Hi Lou the dried strips of fish skin tend to be softer than the cubes, remember any chews should be given under supervision.

I never buy rawhide for Loki - did when she was a pup but she would sniff and leave it!

I get her sea jerky, or puffed jerky but only rarely. Don't want her putting on any more weight!

Many thanks for the link.
