That photo was taken before I had taken Pereg to the Vet - I took her a couple of days later as she was due for one of her regular blood tests, by which time the spots themselves were more patches then actual spots and she did have a couple of little bald patches.

It turned out to be some sort of zoonotic infection [not ringworm and not one that could be passed on to me]. She had anti-biotics for maybe 7 days, I forget, plus this special cream. Very occasionally she gets a sore looking place in her groin or in an armpit, so I just use the cream a couple of times a day until they go. Each time it has cleared up within a very short time.

Whatever it is is not, according to my Vet, anything to be concerned about, so hopefully your Alfie's spots will not be anything to be concerned about either.

Oh poor boy, and that looks identical to a german shepherd I had's condition, which eventually spread to half her face! It wasn't actually spots, more like sores, the skin came off along with the hair, it would weep on occassions, other times it dried up nicely and we thought we were on a winner.

I spend hundreds of pounds with a skin specialist, but he couldn't fathom it out either, I just got the "it's not this, it's not that" but what it was, he never actually came up with.

We had her on months of ab's at one time which worked quite well. Another vet tried her on steroids and they didn't work at all. I went to another vet and again we were on ab's and again they did the trick a lot better than steroids.

Good luck for tomorrow, I see what you mean about him being big and it's on his face, he really does need to be sedated that lovely big boy of yours. All the best with him tomorrow and I'd be interested to hear if he comes up with some kind of diagnosis.

Hypoallergenic food would help a lot I think, especially a salmon and potato one imo, it always works wonders for skin.

I just feel SO lucky sometimes reading the threads on this forum. That I've never had a dog with any of the terrible (but apparently quite common) problems discussed - and I wasn't even aware of them until recently. All sorts of things that can go wrong with dogs ...

Even the most common, anal glands and all that.

Yes Alfie has been on predindale and ceporex the spots are very unusual they start off red like tiny pimples then they flake and his hair comes loose then underneath the flaking and loose skin the redness comes again its like a viscous circle he has started this past week licking his front legs and paws after itching,

Booger.

I get a taxi to take Pereg to the Vet and luckily I have a choice of two special drivers that she adores as they have to walk her up the path and into the taxi, and then from the taxi into the clinic - then the same in reverse, as I cannot cope with her on a leash.
