Fell in love with a...

Was at P@H today to get Murphy's photo taken at one of those competition things. Had Max's done last time, so took Murphy today.

As we were about to leave the store, I spotted a great big, huge....

Leonberger :smt049

Have never met one of these in the flesh before, so had to go over and have a talk to the owners!

His name was Diesel and he was 11 months old (and as big as a Shetland Pony!) and he was an absolute sweetie

He and Murphy just wanted to play, and as he was so big, he laid on the floor so he and Murphy could wrestle

His owners were lovely and said they appreciated me letting Murphy play, as often people take their dogs away from him as he's so big. I don't mind them playing, as it does Murphy good to meet different sized dogs!

Think I've just found another breed I'm in love with!

I don't think the Boxers would be happy about sharing their sofa's with someone so huge!

Mind you, they'd probably use the Leo as a pillow!!

I often see the working Leonberger club doing life saving in a lake at a place i go doggie walking and they are truly huge.Quite surreal seeing 20+ of them sometimes all waiting their turn to swim.

I've never met one but my stepdaughter did at work, she completely fell in love. Have to admit the bigger they are the more gentle they seem. I love the sound of them.

Mate has a St Bernard and the only thing dangerous about him is the amount of drool he produces, and if he leans on you you are in danger of falling over
