Sheepdog gone AWOL :(

Allan took Craig this morning to gather the ewes off the hill that runs from the back of our house for a couple of miles or so. He set Craig off and then carried on along the track on the quad. As expected, there were soon ewes on the horizon and so Allan continued on to open the gate onto another part of the hill. The ewes appeared but there was no dog.

Craig just seemed to have disappeared

Allan has been out looking for him for the past couple of hours and has gone again now. I really hope he turns up soon. It is a bit premature to put Craig's details on Doglost, but I am going out of my mind with worry here He could be 2+ miles away from home, it is wet and windy, and the hills look very much the same when you get out there ... it is a bit of a wilderness with just a single track road running over the top.

Please send good vibes that he is making his way back home or that Allan picks him up soon.

My goodness, he is stunning! I really hope you find him quick!!

Could he have gone chasing after something perhaps?

Or maybe fallen?

How horrible for you - and for Craig if he is lost. I do hope Allan finds him or he finds his way home very soon.

{{{vibes}}} being sent right now. xx

How odd for him to just disappear like that I hope he is found or comes home himself.

Really hope he is home safe soon.

Could he of fallen down a hole ? This happened to Ollie's mum ten days before she whelped the litter. Breeder didn't know there was a hole there it was covered over but whatever had been covering it had deteriorated and she went down. One of the other dogs found her.

Hugs, hope he's found soon. My initial thought was also some sort of a hole or ditch?

Hugs for you. I would get him in dog lost asap. If someone finds him its generally the first place they check.

Everything crossed for your boy to come home safe xxx

Hope he's home soon and is ok. Would it be worth taking the other dogs out to try and help locate him?

He wouldn't have chased anything, other than an errant ewe perhaps. Allan has checked all the likely places he thinks he could have been had he fallen/been in trouble but no sign The other shepherd has now turned out to help, which is very kind as it is a really cold and windy day.

Thanks Malka, I do hope he turns up soon. We are all so worried. I have put his details on doglost now, and have rung the police station, but no one has handed him in yet.
