Will your dog allow you to lift or carry them.

Will your dog allow you to lift or carry them ..?
Size of dog would mean more than one person..

Is it something you think should be taught to people and dogs??

Yes. He's very calm, provided he's held properly. I think it should be taught, you never know when you might have to pick your dog up. Thankfully sweep weights about 6 kg so it's not a problem but if a large dog was to be picked up and started to struggle it could cause problems and make the reason why he had had to be picked up in the first place worse. I don't really like picking them up like theyre toys though... I see a lot of small dog owners seemingly unable to differentiate between stuffed toy and dog.

Yes, both mine will, Daisy quite likes it, Spud just puts up with it cause' he's so easy going.
I've never thought about it before but I suppose it would be a useful thing to have your dog get used to in case of emergency.

Should add. I took him on a family holiday and drove him and luggage back in my car and mum and sisters went in mums. My polo that was older than me gave up the ghost on the motorway. And having a dog that was willing to be carried was a godsend, had to move him from the car to the aa vehicle. And it would have bee1000 times harder on a lead.

If your dog is used to being handled by you, they will allow you to pick them up.

Both mine will allow any sort of contact

Muffin isnt fond of being picked up, she gives you a look like you've violated her and shows she isnt comfortable. So we dont carry her unless its lifting her onto the vet table and thats it.

Amber and Totts dont mind being picked up. My little sister gave lots of praise to Amber when she sat like a baby so Amber will curl into you. Totts only likes being carried a certain way, hold her wrong and she'll kick into you. Cant say i pick them up very often, my little sister is always picking amber up for cuddles though

Mia no problem. Ben will let you do it, he would let me do anything - but he is not a fan and as he isnt helping as such makes him feel many times heavier than Mia

I think Mia likes to look down on her subjects, it amuses her
