Dog vomiting bile??????

Hi

Our dog has began to vomit yellow bile when she appears to be hungry! It usually happens in the early hours of the morning, not every day....about once a month.....and she si absolutley fine afterwards. No signs of being unwell. We asked the vet about it the last time we took her for her booster injections and he said it is an indication of an empty stomach and to just keep an eye on it. Has anyone else had a similar problem? We have now started feeding her the same amount but spread out in the day and this seems to help.....but just wondered if any one has had similar problems?

Her nose is also frequently dripping.....very wet!! Does anyone know what may be causing this and if it is a problem?

I am a worrier.........dont have any 'human' children but I cant bear to imagine what I would be like if I did!!!???

Thanks all!

It's not uncommon. Have you tried giving a plain biscuit before bed? Something like a Bonio (or half)? It might help.

Yes had the bile thing and it is down to an empty stomach, how many meals are you feeding 2? You could try giving her something like a bonio/crackerjack when you all go to bed so she has something in her tummy.

Is the mucus changing colour?

Thanks for getting back to me. We have started to feed her three times a day......once at about 6am......then 1pm....then around 5pm. She then gets a dental treat at 9pm, then bed. I will try what you said, mabye giving her something before bed.
Some days the bile is yellow, but then other days, it is clear.....like phlegm?

Any ideas?

Just a thought - my dog is allergic to the colourings in some of these treat. Could you substitute a Bonio or similar and see if it helps?

I just give my little ones a handful of their JWB dry food before bed, between them. That stops the early morning bile chuck up for mine

I have heard that is more common in smaller dogs. If spreading the meals our works, fine.

All of mine have at some time or another brought yellow bile up in the mornings, a boneo or a little of their dry food before bed has corrected this.
