Border Collie wanted - Norfolk/Suffolk area

Hi there - we are looking for a border collie that needs a home. We already have one border collie who is almost three years old - so whatever dog we get must be fine with other dogs. We would also like it to be a long coated border collie. We love sable and/or merle dogs but this is not hugely important.

We have older teenagers (17 and 18 ) in the house plus 2 ducks who live outside (perhaps the teenagers should live outside!! ). We have a large, secure garden and live in a rural location.

We attend a local obedience club and hope to start agility in the new year. We are currently awaiting a homecheck from Wiccaweys who rehome collies but just wondered if there were any in the Norfolk/Suffolk area that needed a home.

Regards - Donna

Hi Donna,

Have you checked with Wiccaweys the Border Collie Rescue. Alexa, one of the members on here may be able to help if you pm her.
Welcome to Dogsey by the way.

Hi there - thanks for the tip about Wiccaweys - we are waiting for a homecheck from them but just thought maybe there is a dog nearer home who isn't lucky enough to be at Wiccaweys.

Check the "dog rescue pages". A Googlr search will give you the site and there are details of many rescues and the dogs tht need homes......

Hi everyone and thank you for all your helping guiding me to a border collie. We travelled up to Wicca weys in Northamptonshire yesterday and spent a long time there with their dogs and our border collie, Brodie. It seemed that Brodie was not going to be happy with a dog bigger with him. However, when we tried him with puppies he was fine - not that we had planned on another puppy but the boss had spoken!!

So - off we went to a foster home to see some puppies and we were sold :smt007 . And here she is:

She came from a farm in Ireland where she didn't have a future and was due to come to an unpleasant end. She seems super intelligent and very knowing - plus she is pretty as a picture. Can't wait to get her off to classes and see how well she does.

By the way - we have called her Meg - in true Welsh sheepdog tradition!

Thanks again everyone - Donna
