The walk to work...
Thought I'd upload some pictures of my walk to work - having mentioned it in my moan about my walk back from work - just to prove it was a semi sound move.
15 minutes from the house sees us here:
Offshoot of the grand Union. Not bad.
This next one's a bridge later and is pretty much where the dog fell in last february requiring my lying in the slush to hook him out.
Is that worry I see? The next time we passed this spot (after the dunking) he made a very detailed examination of the edge. Just to determine it had stopped moving? Anyway – onwards! Happy dog.
And into canal boat territory...
and more...
That's the bridge we'd cross if we were going to do the long loop back to the house.
But we weren't.
So further on this is the back of one of the caravan parks we pass.
nice.
Quickly away though past the broken bridge
And the bridge that goes to Iver – The Quarry starts on the right here.
Local factory's turn to display their contribution to the enviroment:
What goes through people's heads?
“Well I've finished my lunch, what shall I do with all the crap? I know, I'll lob it over the fence; couple of hundred years should take care of it...”
Up ahead the Motorway crosses the canal and not far beyond that the canal crosses a river some distance below. For whatever reason – running late/ couldn't be bothered I didn't take a snap of this but here's one of the river after we'd dropped down to it.
The woods the woods... beside the river you can't see & the mud you can...
Then there's the tunnel under the railway which lets out onto the golfcourse, and then the other bit of golfcourse where all footpath signs vanish & the style out onto the road is impassable, requiring a hop over the fence a bit further up. 5 minutes of road then back along the river via a metal bridge, Caravan park, a scrap yard, more flytipping and a unphotogenic motorway bridge to go under. It could be a nice stretch of river if it wasn't for incosiderate (Inset appropriate noun here) filling it with crap.
The pic of the next bit of path by the river (hooray - no vehicle access - no crap) came out blurry; I think I might have been jogging. The dog was running on ahead here in a "Yippe we're HERE" kind of way.
So here's the last stretch
Harmondworth moor.
We're there. And what's more, we're on time!
