Haha mine are weary to get too close because he dances.

My mum's lurcher Sadie is 10 and every year my mum gets my brother a silly musical xmas toy as a joke, and she will still cock her head to the side like, "what the....?" every time!

Cosmo came home on December 14th last year. With a child in the house the tree and Christmas stuff had to be up...so we just made sure he couldn't get under it, we sort of barricaded the lower part of it in. He was fine. Just make sure he can't get underneath and grab the bottom of it.

My friend's cat used to scale their tree and throw down the chocolate things for the dogs to eat!!!!!

Not a chance of us putting up a normal tree with our 14 week old OR our 14 month old beagles.

About 10 years ago mantlepiece garlands were fashionable. We still have one from B&Q. It's made like an artificial christmas tree but is actually a garland that sits accross the top of the mantlepiece. It's thick and bushy like a christmas tree. You can put tree lights and decorations on it just like a tree and it looks every bit of good. BUT SAFE!!! The only thing we need to worry about is taping the lights cable to the wall so the pup can't nibble it.

I don't know if you can still get them, but I'm sure you could make one quite easily. I haven't got ours up yet but when I do I'll post a piccy.

Well, I've just put my tree up today! It's so lovely and Christmassy in the lounge now

Anyway, I bought a puppy playpen and have put it around the Christmas tree (bought gold as it matches nicely with the tree decs).

Last year (before I had the naughty little longcoat chocolate monster Chi) I put the tree up and just told them to keep away and they didn't go near it. I have the lights that flash on and off, so I think that kept them at bay.

However, Fluffles Fufu, the little minx that thieves anything, from visitor's mobile phones to the mother-in-law's spare knickers is not to be trusted, so a puppy playpen was a must this year. Otherwise all the baubles would be found in Fluff's bed.

Now, as I know that your little boy is an angel I'm sure he won't go anywhere near the tree

This is the 3rd year without a tree 1st year because of Katie and Dori then we starting changing the house about and building so not really any room and we are still in a mess, so I dont think I would of put one up this year but now with Peat as he is into every thing and chews anything exspeacialy electical wires not tree again.
I love my christmas tree with all me special glass baubles so not the best of things to put up with a puppy bouncing around

I put my tree up last Saturday and Rio the perfect pup has shown no interest in it after the initial ' what have we here' sniff. I am blessed! We had the tree up when Loki was a pup without incident, too (he was eight months, Rio is 16 weeks). Oh how awful to have such perfect hounds...
