It's going back a bit now but "Two's Company" by Joyce Stranger is one of my very favourite books and led to what I consider to be an invaluable correspondence between Joyce and myself for a number of years before she sadly died in (I think) 2007.
Quite enjoyed her novels too, though I think they were aimed more at children.

Joyce was lovely - I never met her, but had a chat once on the phone about some obedience show she was organizing. I've never read any of the novels, but I did read the others.

She was jantet, always had time of day for anyone who was interested in the doggy world. Very sadly missed.
