A well fitting headcollar is a massive help. I got my Lab when he was 14 months and he was already used to getting madly over excited at the sight of another dog. Pulling, barking, leaping, the works.

I tried for six months to use other methods but nothing helped. A Dogmatic headcollar worked wonders though!

I recommend either a Dogmatic or a padded Halti. If you email the Dogmatic team they are really helpful re sizing, an this is vital with this brand.

If you do get a headcollar please note:

NEVER use it with an extending/Flexi lead of any type - really dangerous for the dog.

NEVER jerk on the lead as it can damage the dog's neck.
