Help needed with Darlington Show entry (again!)!

Ok I'm trying to enter Isla into the Darlo dog show, but I'm struggling to understand some of the abreviations!

I've entered her into JB (junior bitch), PGB (post grad) and JB stakes class which is fine (took me long enough to work that out mind! )

But there other classes such as:

AVDB
AVOD/B G
AVOD/B T
AVB

And then further down:
Other classes;
AVGdg BSt
(could this be a breeders class as there's a box to put your affix in?)

Anyone any idea, feel like my heads spinning!

The last one is the breeder stakes Any variety gundog breeder stakes ..

The others i just had a look at the schedule hmmmm are you doing it online? is that the confusion?

Any variety dog/bitch gundog/toy (which i think thats what the t & G stand for) But i am on working so maybe wrong

Why are you doing so many can i ask? i dont generally do more than one breed class and maybe one stakes class such as junior stakes just in case it knocked us out as a beaten dog.

(have you got the class numbers and i'll have a look for you)

Hi there - If I were you stick with your breed classes - and maybe the stakes class junior only - what age is she? If Junior then just stick with Junior as the post grad classes will have much older mature dogs to battle against - and even a fab Junior may struggle against some of those!

ok I THINK...

AVDB = any variety dog/bitch
AVOD/B G = any variety open dog/bitch gundog (b/f sais not me )
AVOD/B T = as above toy
AVB = any variety brace usually could be bitch if theres an avd (dog) aswell

And breeder stakes ur right with that one.

Don't quote me on it though!

I agree with Rachel, I think it is always better to try and go against dogs similar age so they don't look 'immature' next to older dogs. I've put Marius in Minor Puppy for Blackpool rather than Puppy as he will only just be eligible.

Whatever you decide hope you have a fab day - and I learnt something from this thread as I couldn't figure out what they were either!

That's true, for our first Champ show (SKC), Maddy had to be put in JB because she was ONE DAY too old on the day for PB, and she came last. I'm not blaming that but she was very immature against the rest when I took her in. She has always been a slow maturer anyway.

Lordy Rips, you're sooo organised , Darlington isn't until September . I invariably hang on until the last day or so before entries close

If it was me, I'd only do Junior Bitch and the Junior stakes. I'd not put a junior into Post Grad in a strong breed like English Springers.

Hi Rips,
I'd stick to one class in the breed unless your chasing junior warrant points....if you win junior and not pg you can go infor the ticket as unbeaten and imho better to be seen in the line up at the end and you never know, dogs can get tired or movement can change.
