There's a nice hotel called Forest Park in Brockenhurst. Not stayed there but have used the stables that are attached so have used their facilities! Always looks nice and seems popular.

The good news is that it accepts dogs, the bad news is the reviews are AWFUL on trip advisor and elsewhere.

(perhaps the stables are better)

Back to the drawing board.

Oh really? That's a shame. Looked nice.

We walk past this one all the time and would love to stay there. Bit posh but looks gorgeous!

Well I eventually found one that appears to tick all the boxes, the Best Western Forest Lodge which is dog friendly and has a pool etc.

Just got back and saw not a soul. No ponies, no sheep, no pheasant, no dogs, no people.

I love the sound of the forest at dusk, you can hear the animals start moving about and the various birds.

Arrow had a fab time. I love it when I can imagine I am walking through my OWN woods rather than a national park!

The hotel was lovely, very welcoming receptionist and barman and I brought my dinner with me.

Small bottle of Shiraz, Grande Mange Blanc and Burato (type of mozzarella) and tomatoes on the vine from Waitrose, followed by their scrummy chocolate and raspberry torte.

This morning we had a lovely walk in the forest before all the day trippers arrived so did not encounter any other living beings bar the ponies.

On the drive home an entire flock of sheep took up the whole road, it was disturbing to see that many of them were VERY lame.

I had forgotton how prretty the New Forest is, especially at this time of year, it has been some time since I visited, long overdue.

The seminar was enjoyable
