Flea prevention products

Is there a lot of differences between the different products available?

For example Frontline and Fiprospot?

I bought Frontline for Hocus the other week and was gven a leaflet for Ectoline, as I'd not heard of it before and there was less than £1 difference in price I went with Frontline.
Plan on stocking up at crufts so just wondered.....

Not much help I am afraid I treat the house and the car not the dogs.

I have never heard of the other one. We don't tend to treat ours as a matter of course and when we do, it's usually just frontline spray, but that is very rare.

I dont use preventative treatment for fleas neither, apart from natural deterrents.

I've seen Fiprospot in PAH I think so I have heard of it but never really paid it much attention.

Pereg gets "done" with Frontline Plus on the 1st of every month [except for December and February] because it is also effective against ticks - and as there are so many loose and/or stray dogs around that come into out front yard I really do not want her picking up fleas or ticks.

I was recently using frontline, however still found a few fleas on Tilly, finally got rid of them and after doing lots of googling and spoke to the vet I discovered that alot of people are saying frontline is becoming in-effective.

How true that is I don't know, but our vet obviously thinks there is something in it as they have stopped carrying it.

I am now going with the treating my house and not my dogs option.

I can't see the point in spending the $'s on the preventative when it didn't work anyway, I may as well not bother

My vets sell the Fiprocat/dog stuff as it's a lot cheaper, but pretty much the same as Frontline.

I've been using Frontline and found no problem with it. Quite easy to apply and gets rid of them within 24 hours (so I'm told), sorry I haven't heard of the other one xx

Fipronil is the active ingredients in Frontline...and Frontline is just an expensive 'make', hence the reason I go for the cheaper version with the same ingredients in lol

I refuse to pay so much for something when I can get the same for a lot cheaper
