Walk with me

(Just as an explanation...my pen name is Hunter, or Gaz Hunter...)

The sun was rosy, gibbous, lustrous as Willow and I wandered into the Big Field. Mist swirled, fog wafted and flowed, ethereal and real.

"Walk with us, Hunter. Walk with us" they said.
"I cannot walk with you, for I know not who you are!"
"You know us well, Hunter. We are your past. We are your successes, your failures.
We are your delights and triumphs, your failures and your shame.
Walk with us, Hunter. Walk with us, and know us, and know yourself."

So I walked with them, just for a while. I walked with them, and I knew them. And I knew myself.

"Sing with us, Hunter. Sing with us" They said.
"I cannot sing with you, for I know not who you are, I know not the words!"
"You know us well, Hunter. We are your now. You know the words. The words are your plans and ideas. Your very thoughts.
Sing with us, Hunter, and know us, and know yourself."

So I sang with them, just for a while. I sang with them, and I knew them, and the words. And I knew myself.

"Dance with us, Hunter. Dance with us" they said.
"I cannot dance with you, for I know not who you are, and I know not the steps!"
"You cannot know us, Hunter. We are your future. We are what will be. Improvise the steps, Hunter.
Improvise the steps, and dance with us!"

So I danced with them, just for a while. I danced with them, and though I did not know the steps, I knew them. And I knew myself.

"Leave us, Hunter. Leave us now" They said.
"I cannot leave you, for I know not where I am going!"
"You're going to fish Willow out of the river, she's fallen in again..."

Love the photo, love the poem and giggled at the ending.

Hope Willow wasn't too muddy...
