It does sound like a trapped nerve. I agree with those who say to try anti-inflammatories. I get a pain like that in my neck sometimes. It's agonising isn't it? If the warm compresses don't work, try cold compresses (a.k.a. bag of frozen peas!). If your muscle is imflamed the cold might reduce this a bit. Make sure your arm is supported, even if you're just sitting down. It might seem a bit dramatic, but putting your arm in a sling might ease it a bit. If you can get someone to gently massage the area for you as well this might help (not if it's too painful though).

If it's anything like the pain I get, the only real cure is time unfortunately. When it happens to me it ususally lasts about a week.

Could be a frozen shoulder Saz, it stops you from raising your arm very high...I had one a few years back, and had 3 jabs from the doc spaced apart and it really helped....

Hello, It semms to have moved, its still very painful niow and hurts when i breath, i will be going to the docs in the morning
