Cheers Ingrid-i've got plenty of options now!

I took off the latex gloves a little while ago and my hands feel quite a bit better now so this is something im gonna have to do regulary,but perhaps with other creams.

They're still rough as a brick though...

Steve, if your hands are not too sore use sugar and baby oil (olive oil will do). Put a spoonful of sugar in your hand and add a goodly amount of oil. Rub your hands together in a washing action. Rinse off the sugar with warm water and dry your hands. If you hate the feel of the residual oil then wash hands with soap, dry, and apply a good handcream.

Ah-thankyou SB!

I have a bottle of baby oil in bathroom (had to use it when i had an operation few years ago) and completly forgot all about it! Not sure about adding sugar though because although they feel better,i think the sugar would be too abrasive against broken skin.I'll give the baby oil a go tommorrow-thankyou!!!

It isnt washing up which has caused this Fred-i wish it was!

I've always suffered with sore hands in the winter and summer isnt much better either.I've always worked with my hands so invariebly they look like a road map with the amount of scars/lines etc and am now paying the price.

me too very dry skin need lots of cream to keep them soft i used camilie cream that helped a lot, i was always outside in the winter the best is lots of cream then put on ruber gloves for an hour

Very funny Shady - Freds a gentleman - he wouldn't have me washing up - scrubbing floors and washing his flippers but not washing the dishes
