New Computer, where is Word?

Argh!

Can anyone please help?

I have a new computer and all is going well with it apart from I can't find Word or a similar word processing package. I have found something called Notepad and Word pad but I can't find spell check in them and when I put "spell" or "spellcheck" into the search it comes up with nothing?

Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Thanks

It might be part of Microsoft Works which should be already on if its Windows XP. Have a look in your list of programs and you should see it

Apparently Word doesn't come with new computers any longer because my sister was going to get one and wanted one with Word on too. Mine has the Microsoft
works program on with a word processor.

I do Stewart, sorry for not being more specific.

It seems this computer has many many useful programs but not the basic one I need.

Although the main reason I bought the puter was to get a digi camera and learn how to post photos of Zeus and hopefully our new arrival later in the summer, but I still need it to do the basics
