dog friendly venues in Wigtown area?

We have booked a cottage in Scotland just South of Wigtown and are trying to find out about as many dog friendly places there as we can before we go. We are within walking distance of a beach and woodlands. We are after good days out with the kids, walks, pubs etc. if anyone has any info it would be great.
