As to H&S, I actually checked with our local council what the rules were for dogs being allowed in cafes and, apparently, provided the food is not cooked in the customer seating area, ie has a separate kitchen, any cafe can allow dogs in. However, a lot of cafe owners opt for the no dog rule, but it's nothing to do with H&S

I dont know if they allow dogs in usually but for this charity lunch, they allowed dogs inside too although we chose to sit outside. After 2 trains and three tube trains, we needed the air! Had a lovely email from the manager who said they hope to do more events like this as it was so popular so will let you all know when the next one is planned.
