Welsh Cakes

My Oh has gone to stay with his Mum and brother until Wednesday (could be back earlier if he gets hungry lol) and I mentioned this to one of my oldies, who is very Welsh, and she was telling me how she misses Welsh Cakes.

So, I've asked Mother-in-law (2B) to send him home with some for her as a surprise.

But what are they???

She is from North Wales and as he will be in south Wales (Laugharne) she thinks they may not have them there.

Thank you, I think I may have a go at making my little lady some. She's very excited that I'm even looking for some for her!

Yes we have them in South Wales. I used to make them regularly when all the family were living at home. They used to wait for them coming off the bakestone and eat them while they were still warm. Having 4 children and a hubby it was like a conveyer belt. But they are so delicious. Now it's just me and o/h at home I tend to be lazy and buy them. But they don't taste as nice.

Well, I've had a go at making them!

Don't know if they are right but they look ok...

and when I turned round Tonto went straight into his 'dead' mode to try and get me to give him one lol...

Just taken some round to my Welsh lady who was very pleased, though her son probably was wondering who I was lol
