This sort of thing really infuriates me. It ruins things for us all in the long run. Me, I'm for instant fines if you're found to be the owner of a wandering dog, period. No questions and no excuses. All the better if the money collected in fines could be shared between local rescue centres who invariably end up having to take these dogs in!

Hi,

No there isn't a link, it actually happened in my village the dog was caught by the dog warden and they do know who's it was.

That is so sad I am not sure I could be held responsible for my actions against the owners of the staffy if it had killed one of my dogs.

Irresponsible owners that just let their animals roam make me so MAD!!!
What a horrible thing to happen. I do hope the owners of the staffy are brought to justice over their actions and the resulting death.

How terrible for that poor man and dog, my heartfelt thoughts are with him.

Unfortunatly in many areas Staffys are always on the loose because they are the "In Dog" for the young irresposible men.
Where I live I cannot walk my big girl out because of this problem. If they are not out loose without thier owners they are off lead along roads with them and are praised for being aggresive and attacking. Also round here they are now crossing them with Akitas and other similar types to see who can breed the most aggresive dog.
It has unfortunatly left me terrified of meeting a Staffy out on a walk anywhere.
I do walk my JRT out round here but have my eyes all around me and at the first sight of one pick him up.
I lost the sleeve out of my jacket a few weeks ago outside Tesco when an off lead one flew for my JRT but instead of him he got the sleeve of my jacket as I bent down to scoop him away from its jaws, and took that instead. The owners thought it hilarious and said I should put my dog down to see how many pieces thier dog could make out of him.
