Springpole?

My pup is just a little over 6months old, is he ready to practice on a springpole? my breeder told me it should be ok but his teeth have just come out and are still growing and i was thinking it might damage his jaw. does any1 here use a springpole for theyre dogs if so are there any bad effects it has on a dog? my pup is already quiet "ripped" and full of engery im sure he'd love 1 in the back yard lol :P but should i wait till hes older?

Yeah I would wait too, let him be a pup plenty of time for all that when he grows.

At the very earliest one year old, make sure his rear feet can touch the ground when rigging it.

do any of you use a springpole? i think i will put it on hold thanx 4the feed back.

i use a spring pole and have done ever since my pups were about 6-7 mths they love it, and i find it a very good way to exersise my dogs. but as house dog says keep their back feet on the ground

It is a device used to strengthen a dogs jaw and neck muscles, it is a piece of wood or metal shaped like an upside down letter L, with a piece of expandable cord attached, which enables the dog to work the piece of leather or whatever is used as a lure without jarring his neck muscles. If ever using a spring pole be sure that the dogs back legs have contact with the ground.
