snail slime - can anyone help?

Archie has just come in from the garden with his nose covered in some nasty slimy stuff a bit like glue sister went out into the garden to see what it was and apparently it was a snail.

This stuff is impossible to get off, it's completely stuck to Archie's nose, even if I try to pick it with my fingers it will not budge. I tried rubbing it off with olive oil and some came off, but there is still a lot stuck to his nose and the hair around it.

Does anyone know how I can get this disgusting stuff off?

my dogs get this all the time normally with a slug still attatched to them I just leave it because they do a better job than me getting it off

ewwwww poor Archie. I have a fear of things that crawl which don't have legs slugs, snails etc so if your like me poor you I hope it comes off soon
