11 month old Alaskan Malamute - Dakota

You cannot believe the despair I feel having to write this Dakota is my daughter's dog and she is sadly having to find her a new home due to housing restrictions.

This little lady is an absolute treasure, she is dog friendly, cat friendly, everyone friendly. She's had basic training but could do so much more.

Alaskan Malamute rescue will be an option if we can't find her a 5* home in a couple of weeks. She's flead, wormed, vacc'd and chipped but not spayed yet as my daughter was waiting until after her 2nd season.

If Molly didn't need a full hip replacement within the next couple of months I'd have had her, but I daren't risk Molly injuring herself or her recovery after the op due to their playfullness. Molly has to be my main priority.

Potential new homes will be thoroughly vetted as we only want the very best for this special lady.

Dakota at about 5 months

As she is now

Dakota is based in West Yorkshire

Sorry to hear you have to rehome your Mal

Is it not possible for her breeder to take her back? Really they should be your first port of call as a reputable breeder would certainly want to know if one of their pups was being rehomed and they should be willing to take back a pup they bred at any point in their life.

I'm glad to see that you are considering AMCUK rescue as the homes are thoroughly vetted One thing I would suggest is getting her speyed before you rehome her so that she can't be bred from indiscriminantly (hopefully it wouldn't happen, but you eliminate the chance by having her speyed before rehoming).

Good luck with this

Thanks Greyhawk, I've spoken to my daughter this morning and told her exactly the same thing. She hadn't thought about contacting the breeder but hopefully that will be done this evening....... Hopefully this could be the solution in a very sad situation.
