So sorry to hear you have lost Tai. He is stunning looking. I found the below poem a comfort. I think it is a brave thing we have to do as pet owners is to know when it is time to let go. Hugs to you and Ben.
Sally
If It Should Be....

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this last battle can`t be won.

You will be sad, I understand,
Don`t let your grief then stay your hand
For this day, more than all the rest
Your love and friendship stands the test.

We`ve had so many happy years
What is to come can hold no fears.
Would you want me to suffer? So
When the time comes, please let me go.

Take me where my needs they`ll tend
Only stay with me until the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
It is a kindness that you do to me
Although my tail it`s last has waved
From pain and suffering I have been saved

Do not grieve it should be you
Who must decide this thing to do.
We`ve been so close, we two these years
Don`t let your heart, hold any tears.

Gee thanx everyone ... esp those who haven't been round here for ages. It really is very much appreciated.

I am just about to leave for a week's holiday to celebrate my 60th birthday with my beautiful Ben and my not so beautiful hubby! I am now a granny - little Alfie was born by emergency C section on 4th December - mother and baby doing well!

2013 was a dreadful year for me, hence my absence recently. I lost my father in October, we nearly lost Alfie, Tai was put down 3 weeks ago last Sunday, my brother has malignant melanoma, I cannot wait for this year to progress and hopefully things to pick up.

I may not be on here for a while - depending on whether we have got wi fi in our cottage!

Thanx so much everyone, Tai will be so happy that so many people loved him xx
