Latest on story is:

Fionn has had the MRI. The news is not good. Basically the fracture has caused the skull to split and overlap. The force of the blow to the head was so severe it has opened the skull. This is causing constant measure on the brain. This will eventually lead to seizures, loss of sight and mobility and ultimately death. We are faced with two choices. Put him to sleep now or do surgery. We have come this far we have decided to go for surgery. The surgery will involve repairing the skull to remove the pressure on the brain. It is very high risk but we feel that we need to take the chance and pray for a positive outcome. If the surgery is successful then it will make a good recovery and have a good quality of life. The surgeon is an expert in his field so Fionn is in the best hands possible. Fionn will stay in the vets in Dublin for the weekend and surgery will be done in a few days. Again all we can do is wait and pray that our special boy can fight this last battle. Please keep him in your thoughts and we will update you all as soon as we can.

I couldn't read the link, it would haunt me forever, but I got the gist of how bad this was from all your posts, poor poor boy. I will have positive vibes on constant that this little fella pulls through the op and if he doesn't, at least he was given every possible chance.

I know what I'd like to do to the evil scum who mistreated Fionn, but I'll let Karma take care of that!

There is an update on Fionn, the battered hound. He survived the surgery and is making good progress. This is from the Cork Dog Action Welfare Group:

"The Return of our hero Fionn. Just a quick update to let everyone know our boy who has stolen the heart of so many people is returning to Cork today. His wonderful fosterer Angela will be bringing him down from Dublin and we hope to have photos to post later on."
