They're quiet now thank goodness. Been bedlam.
I came back laden with goodies for them all from my butchers (turkey legs) and the minute I walked through the door they started carrying on. I had done the kitchen etc before I went out, but not put fresh bedding in, and their tea wasn't out. Phone starts ringing, but it is more than likely someone trying to sell me something, and in the scheme of things is right at the bottom of my priorities, by now girlies have started as well.........
Finally got everything sorted, let babies in for their tea and supervised that. Went out to sweep up and give them their pilchards, brought firewood in.
Collected dirty dishes and started washing them up. Made a cup of tea, put some wood on the fire and its blazing now, coal is fine but you don't get the flames you do with wood, although coal gives a more thorough warmth.
Lovely and quiet, house settles back on its foundations, babies sleep and I have a drink of tea
