As far as we know he was perfectly healthy leo and no reason to pts him. All it would of taken was a call to the breeder as the leonberger club have thier own welfare for this sort of thing.

...my vet would refuse to do it unless the dog was ill the people concerned should be banned from having any more dogs

Disgusting, I am so angry at this . If the vet put TJ to sleep knowing the owners reasons, I think that he/she should be seriously reprimanded. People cannot be allowed to get away with this type of behaviour.

If that was the case then it is simply unforgiveable...but, there are always two sides to every story and I honestly find it difficult to believe that an owner would have a dog destroyed because it didn't fit their house....! I'm not doubting the story as a whole, just saying there could well be other things we don't know about

they must have known how big the dog was gonna be when they got him as i assume they would have seen the parents. Maybe as time went by they changed their minds it really is disgusting.

A dog is for life, not just for xmas... sadly alot of people dont think that way
