Name the breed

I have been commissioned to do a portrait of this little dog, who has passed away. This is meant as a gift, but we don't know what the breed is.

If you happen to have a dog just like this one, would you send me a photo, so I can see what the ears look like?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Sorry Don't think its a Papillon wrong colouring, more like a long-haired Chihuahau or perhaps a Cross between the two.

It's a Tibetan Mastiff - but far away !

If it is a single breed I think you could be right with Papillon - they do come in tan sometimes & it looks a bit long in the muzzle for a chihuahua.

I think he was a mix. I will look up the breeds you have suggested and see which comes closest.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I always thought that Papillons had a lot of white in them and were not solid coloured like the dog in the posters picture. As regards the length of muzzle that is why I thought it might be a papillon/long-haired Chi cross.

It could be a cross but im def seeing Pap in there, However the eyes are very Chi!. It could just be one that doesnt conform to standard colouring. My JRT is tan all over apart from her white toes :smt001
