dogs only learn thru operant classical conditioning

dogs will be confused if you talk to them between commands

my dog is aggressive to other dogs, he must have fear aggression

my dog has behaviour problems, he must be dominant

my dog chewed stuff in the house when i wasnt home, he must have separation anxiety

My Mum always says I don't feed Cherry and Parker enough because they mooch round each other's dishes after eating all their food!

She obviously thinks if they were full they wouldn't be looking for more.

'You have to watch those dogs' (meaning my dobe)
'Alsations turn on their owners'
'You will need to muzzle your dog as he gets older'
'you have a strong, powerful dog; so you cant have another or they will turn against you'
'Dobermanns are stupid, I know someone who had one and she agreed' (she also couldnt let hers off lead because they were watchful and bashed into things in the street )
'Dobermanns are loopy, my friends dobermann used to bash its head into the wall' I wonder why then...insert rolly eyes here!
'Dobermanns brains are too big for their skull and they go mental and might attack people'
'Arent Dobermanns fighting dogs?'
'You cant feed a dog too much protein or they will get hyper'
'you have cats? How does the dog feel about that?'
'you have cats! How do they get on with the dog?' Note definate wary tones for last two sentances....

oh and 'he dosnt want the food, he must be timid' or 'oh he's shy' (they never think he just does not want the food or that I havent said "ok" to it or that actually he is aloof with people and just isnt interested in them......why do people think all dogs should love strangers?

The classic:

There is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad owners.

He knows he did wrong

He is sulking

That huskies are more closely related to wolves and therefore dangerous and not to be trusted... "them wolfdogs should be muzzled in public!"
