The whole house is stinkin

And so is the garden, I creosoted the two double gates and the shed today, whew, that stuff really stinks, and it took 3 gallons to do the job.

Im surprised you can still buy creosote- its illegal to sell it here because of all the nasties in it- believe me im an industrial chemist I use Timbercare- its non-toxic for dogs and kids too and doesn't smell

Yes, I use Timbercare too, it's great and far more interesting colours than creosote...... and no nasty niff!

I bought creosote once to do my gate I had only put a few brushstrokes on and I was dizzy and sick my neighbour finished it off for me and it didn't affect him at all.

You can buy creosote in dark or light shades, it's far better than the modern wood preservatives, yes it pongs a bit but it soaks right into the wood, that's why all wooden railway sleepers were treated with it, and they last for years.

The stuff you buy now is called creosote substitute and isnt carciogenic.

I still have a gallon of the good stuff in my shed though...
