Jake Stumpy in .... The Case of the Missing Slipper....

It was always the same ole story, nobody saw anything. Hustle and bustle all around as people made their way to work, kids played in the mean streets, dogs barked but nobody ever saw anything. Jake Stumpy was becoming frustrated at the lack of any hard evidence to go on, but he pressed on regardless, determined to get to the bottom of this one. He went back to the complaintive and once again went over his story......

Ok, lets just go over this one more time... You left the slipper by the bed. Your absolutely sure right?

Having picked up no more info it was time to start getting tough with the local crime lords. Someone had to have seen something. First on the list was Fred Conure. Fred was the eyes and ears, nothing ever happened without Fred seeing it, and also he was always rather easy to get info from... infact he would quite frequently sing like a bird...

C'mon Fred... you gotta gimme a lead...
Forget it smuck, I saw nothing... best you try Pets at Home, you'll get some leads there...

Next suspect was Charlie Longpaws... Charlie was a young lad, local petty criminal. Just the kinda character who would fit the bill for such a job. After hours of interogation.... nothing..

Jake Stumpy became more and more frustrated. Not just at the fact he was getting nowhere fast... but also at the lack of doughnuts... when did you ever see a crime thriller where the lead cop didn't have a doughnut...

Just when it seemed there was nothing to go on Jake Stumpy received an anonymous tip off... Tikaani. A real smooth operator, well known to the local cops, but till now they were unable to make anything stick... apart from a little mud perhaps...

Jake Stumpy hauled him in for questioning. No pussy footing around with this character though.

Wheres the darn slipper, cough darn it...
It was more of a yawn than a cough though, and Stumpy was no further forward in his quest for answers...

Jake was fuming by now... That Tikaani has guilt written all over him, put a tail on him. He slammed his paw down hard on his desk as the Sergeant refused his request... "He already has a tail, a fine fluffy one it is too"....

Stumpy lay thinking, head slumped in defeat. His moral at an all time low. How could such a simple case be such a tough nut to crack... someone had to have seen something. He took a drink then lay down in defeat...

But suddenly something caught his eye... what in the.....

My god look at this... the missing slipper... Stuffed down the side of the sofa....

Your nicked Taylor... wasting police time... it's gonna be a long time in the slammer for you...

Gotta case to crack... Call Jake Stumpy................

Great Story, but i thought it may have been this dog who took the slipper. Just look at the shifty eyes

Thanks skjerstad ... can't afford new slippers though, maybe santa will treat me next year.. they will last that long ... will they???

Think you could be onto something there Stormy... might have to get Detective Jake Stumpy to run a few checks on that shifty looking character of yours

Cheers folks.. was fun writing that.. might have to make it a series hahaha
